The ILC2018 event has three components, and we encourage you to participate in all three, but you are welcome to choose to attend 1, 2 or 3 events:

  1. Pre-conference 3-day field tour of Australian grazing properties (29–31 October): Visit some of the most beautiful southern Queensland leucaena properties where leucaena is a key component to the success of breeding and fattening enterprises. The three-day bus tour will be hosted by knowledgeable guides, producers and The Leucaena Network. The registration fee will cover: shared accomodation for four nights (Sunday 28 October – Wednesday 31 October), bus, and meals.

  2. The main conference (1–3 November): The Organising Committee has planned a comprehensive program with invited speakers from all around the world. This will be held at The University of Queensland on the beautiful 100ha St Lucia campus. The University of Queensland is ranked Australia’s leading agricultural university and top 20 worldwide. Registration includes lunch, morning and afternoon tea during the conference, and an official conference dinner at The University of Queensland’s Customs House Heritage Restaurant. MAIN CONFERENCE REGISTRATION FEE DOES NOT INCLUDE ACCOMODATION—THIS IS AN OPTION EXTRA.

  3. Post-conference 3-day tour of leucaena-based cattle-fattening systems in Indonesia (week beginning 5 November):
This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to see hugely successful beef cattle fattening on leucaena in eastern Indonesia, a practice that is more than 3 decades old. Your host will be University of Mataram in Lombok Island and The Consortium for Large Ruminant Research in Indonesia.Delegates would be required to fly to Lombok from Brisbane, where you would be met, with accommodation, travel and food provided for the three days at a modest cost of approximately A$500 per person. The fee includes, airport pick up, 4 nights twin share accommodation (2 nights in Lombok and 2 nights in Sumbawa), bus to and from Sumbawa, four lunches and four dinners.
